By downloading, installing, or using Jineo ("the app", "the service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Jineo is operated by Universal AI LLC, a Maryland limited liability company ("Jineo", "we", "us"). The app is distributed on the Apple App Store under the Universal AI LLC organization account.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Jineo. If you are between 13 and 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
Jineo is a consumer skincare coaching app. It is NOT:
The scores, recommendations, and protocols in Jineo are informational only. They do not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

You may use Jineo as a guest (local-only) or create an account (syncs across devices). If you create an account:
Jineo offers auto-renewable subscriptions (prices may vary by region):
You can cancel anytime. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You keep Pro access until that end date. No partial refunds for unused time (except where required by law).
Jineo does not issue refunds directly. Refund requests are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com per App Store policy.
We may change subscription prices. We will notify you in advance through the app or email. If you do not accept the new price, you can cancel before the next renewal.
Selfies, diary entries, notes, and share cards you create are YOUR content. You own them.
When you use the app, you grant Jineo a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to process your content solely to provide the service to you (e.g., run on-device skin analysis, sync your diary entries across your own devices).
We do not use your content to train ML models. We do not share your content with third parties for advertising. We do not sell your content.
Selfies captured for skin analysis are sent, over an encrypted connection via our secure proxy, to OpenAI's Vision API for a single one-time analysis after your explicit consent, then discarded — they are not stored on our servers and never used to train any model. The Jineo app, its code, its Bok mascot, its name, its design, and its content (excluding your user content) are owned by Universal AI LLC and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.
Korean celebrity references in the K-Star feature (if present) are editorial and reflect publicly announced brand-ambassador relationships. Jineo does not claim affiliation with, endorsement by, or sponsorship from any named celebrity or their brand partners.
Jineo references K-beauty brands and products for informational purposes. We are not affiliated with these brands. Product data comes from publicly available sources.
Jineo's skin scans are analyzed by OpenAI's Vision API, and Hana, the in-app coach, is powered by a large language model from OpenAI. Hana is a software persona — not a licensed dermatologist, medical professional, or human advisor. No medical or diagnostic AI is used; every AI-generated result and reply is a cosmetic, educational estimate only and is not medical advice. For any medical skin concern, consult a licensed dermatologist.
YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR PATCH-TESTING ANY PRODUCT RECOMMENDED BY THE APP BEFORE FULL APPLICATION.
You agree to indemnify and hold Universal AI LLC harmless from any claim arising out of your use of the app, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party's rights.
You may stop using Jineo at any time. We may terminate or suspend access to any user who violates these Terms. On termination, your right to use the app ends immediately.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Any dispute will first be attempted to be resolved informally by contacting contact@universalaillc.com. If unresolved within 60 days, disputes will be resolved by binding arbitration in Maryland, except that either party may bring claims in small-claims court where eligible.
You waive the right to participate in a class-action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.
We may update these Terms. We will notify you of material changes through the app or email. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance.
